Back in the early days of Disney animation, the animators’ work was even harder than it is today, as they had no computers to help them with the process.
To that end, they made extensive use of models, and Champion was one such model, used in several Disney projects, especially as a model for dancing. She helped create such classics as Fantasia, Dumbo, and Pinocchio, and even worked on the studio’s first animated feature film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, although she was never credited for the work. After her time at Disney, she taught dance and did some choreography for several films and television shows.
