[post_page_title]Kirk Douglas – 101 years old[/post_page_title]
While in the past Douglas was famous for his iconic film roles, these days he’s more lauded for being one of the sole surviving members of Hollywood’s Golden Age. Battling to escape a life of poverty as a youngster, his breakthrough role came in 1946 film noir The Strange Love of Martha Ivers.
He has made more than 90 film appearances to date, including legendary turns in historical epics Paths of Glory and Spartacus, and was most recently spotted at the 2018 Golden Globes with his daughter-in-law, Catherine Zeta-Jones, when the two presented the award for Best Screenplay together. It was his first major awards show appearance since the 2011 Oscars.
