Despite the fact they originally aired more than 50 years ago, Ed Asner probably still gets stopped on the street for playing grumpy news director and then city editor Lou Grant on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and its spin-off Lou Grant.
Don’t take that to mean he’s been lying around on the job since, though, as the versatile actor has – since just the turn of the century – starred in the Will Ferrell comedy Elf, animated Disney-Pixar classic Up, and political-legal drama The Good Wife. Even old age can’t seem to slow a good man down.
