Even with her age now in the triple digits, Vera Lynn is still probably most well-known for being the Forces’ Sweetheart, a moniker she won entertaining English soldiers in World War Two.
The English crooner later traveled the world over, singing such classics as There’ll Always Be an England, The White Cliffs of Dover, and We’ll Meet Again, before moving on to various film and television roles. Even more amazingly, she still performs today, and even released a compilation album last year, simply titled Vera Lynn 100.
