This veteran news lady has been making and breaking records since 1974, when she was appointed the first female co-host of a U.S. news program, The Today Show.
Not content with that record, she became first female co-anchor of a network evening news show just two years later, for ABC News. Feeling that was just another notch in her belt, she went on to hose news magazine show 20/20 for 25 years, before creating the first all-female daytime talk show, The View, which she co-hosted for 16 seasons. She’s now 88, and having broken every record imaginable in news, is finally retired.
