[post_page_title]Chad Le Clos[/post_page_title]
Chad Le Clos is a famous, talented Olympic swimmer in his own right but since 2012, has become well-known for his public rivalry with Michael Phelps. Le Clos’ last gold medal victory was in the 2012 London Games, when he beat Phelps in the 200-meter butterfly event.

It was then, that Phelps announced his retirement from the sport but quickly returned after Chad Le Clos was credited as the rival who took Michael Phelps out of swimming for good. In Rio, Le Clos and Phelps went head to head in their usual specialty, the butterfly, but both swimmers fell behind Hungarian swimmer, Tamas Kenderesi. Chad Le Clos is the most decorated South African Olympian to date.
