Gabrielle Douglas began learning gymnastics at the age of three from her older sister.  She took more formal lesson at six years ago and within two years she became the Virginia State Gymnastic Champion.

She helped bring the U.S team to the gold medal in 2011 in the World Artistic Championships in Tokyo, Japan and the year after she also helped them win gold in London at the 2012 Summer Olympics. And she won yet another gold medal in the 2016 Olympics.
