Sergey Bubka won six IAFF World Championships in a row, as well as an Olympic gold medal. He broke the men’s pole vault world record 35 times, and was named Athlete of the Year twice by Track & Field news.

He has improved his personal record from 1984 to 1994 from 5.85m to 6.14m.  In 2012, he was one of 24 athletes who were added to the International Association of Athletics Hall of Fame.
