Dorothy Hamill began ice skating was she was only eight years old. She took her first title at age twelve. She competed in the 1976 Winter Olympics and won the gold medal in women’s singles by age twenty.

She is known to have created the Hamill camel, which is a unique skating move that turns a camel spin into a sit spin.  She has quit her professional skating career however she still can be found skating with Broadway on Ice.
