Gregory Louganis comes from Samoan and Swedish descent, however was raised by adoptive parents. He is an American Olympic diver and LGBT activist. He won two gold medals, one in 1984 and the other in 1988 at the Summer Olympics in springboard and platform.

He was the first diver to get a perfect score of 10 from all seven of the judges. In 1988 at the Seoul Olympics he had a head injury and this led to a controversy as people discovered he had HIV in 1995.  Now he is the official mentor for the U.S Diving team.
