This kayaking specialist earned eight Olympic gold medals over the span of her 20-year career. Brigit Fisher competed in eight Olympic Games and several World Championships, and is the youngest-oldest canoeing champion to have ever competed.
She’s retired twice, once in 1988 and again in 2000, only to realize her love for the sport surpassed her need for retirement. Notably, the German powerhouse has also won 38 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships. Today, Fisher also works as a photographer and displays her work through the Art of the Olympians Foundation.
