From the beginning, there was a toss between Jodi Foster and Michelle Pfeiffer for the role of Clarice Sterling in the film, The Silence of the Lambs. The role was initially offered to Pfeiffer, but she turned it down on account of the film being too violent for her taste.
Foster would later get the role, as she also very much wanted it, and would forever be known as Clarice! The film is indeed very violent, but it has become one of the classics!
