Batman Returns was a box office hit, but many comic book fans were disappointed after watching the flick. Released in 1992, the film was directed by Tim Burton, who’s known for his dark, quirky, and creative mind.
What particularly annoyed fans was the way he treated Catwoman. Selina Kyle (played by the mesmerizing Michelle Pfeiffer) is pushed from a high-story window, and after some cats mysteriously revive her, she becomes Catwoman – with no further explanation provided of how it happened. Some fans just felt Burton cared more about his vision for the film, than making a quality Batman movie.
