A Ghost Story isn’t a horror film, but rather a supernatural drama. It’s about a ghost that returns to console his wife after his departure, only to realize he’s stuck there, having to watch her slip away from him.
The movie explores important themes like love and loss, but many viewers it was so slow and “artsy,” it failed to delve deep into these issues. Many viewers didn’t like the gloomy, slow-paced flick, and it’s likely that if Rooney Mara and Casey Affleck hadn’t been cast in it, it wouldn’t have been such a big deal.
