Before embarking on the momentous journey, Branson reflected on what they might find down there. Journeying into the world’s largest sinkhole, he couldn’t help but wonder what awaited them in that “unexplored legend of the deep.”
It might be filled, he said, with Mayan mysteries or with myths of monsters. Whether monsters or Mayans, he couldn’t wait to get started. And so, the team of Branson, Bergman, and Cousteau entered the submersible and set off on their adventure into the deep.
