Since Thor’s hammer was destroyed, he turned to Eitri – Dwarf King of Nidavellir – to create a new powerful weapon for him.
Eitri created the Stormbreaker for him, and in a climactic battle between him and Thanos, the new weapon managed to slice through the blast of the Infinity Gauntlet. So does that mean Stormbreaker is more powerful than the gauntlet? According to the writers, it only sliced through the power of the gauntlet (and not the gauntlet itself), and that’s probably because they were both made by Eitri’s “dwarf magic”.
