When asked how long have they known what the ending of Infinity War would look like, writers Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus (pictured below) explained their process.
They said that while they knew it was going to happen for a long time now, it was unclear exactly when the events would take place. Eventually, they had decided on Thanos wiping out half of the population by the end of Infinity War as a cliffhanger that would only be resolved in Avengers 4.
