[post_page_title]Where’d the limestone go?[/post_page_title]
If the pyramids were supposedly so bright and made out of such rich and polished limestone, then where did all of that limestone go off to? To find out, all you need to do is cross the Nile River and go to Old Cairo.
When the city was first constructed back in 969 CE, the builders wanted to cover the buildings in beautiful limestone. So, they took the limestone covering the pyramids and repurposed it as building material for their homes.
