While Pierre Tallet made the discovery of the papyrus, Mark Leher collaborated in order to prove the document to be accurate. Along with his archaeological team, Leher was able to discover the lost waterway.
He stated, “We’ve outlined the central canal basin which we think was the primary delivery area to the foot of the Giza Plateau.” The origins of the pyramids was now proven by Merer’s documentation and the research of modern historians. But did the public believe them?
