Theorists in Ancient Greece theorized that the Egyptians used forced labor in order to construct the enormous monuments.
For years following, this was the widely accepted theory, however, in recent years it has been suggested that the pyramids were actually built by skilled workers. Diodorus Siculus and Herodotus were historians that wrote accounts on the construction of the pyramids. The latter penned a book on the subject in the 5th century. His theory proved that he was ahead of his time.
