[post_page_title]West of the Nile[/post_page_title]
One thing that is interesting about the entire Great Pyramid Compound in Giza, Egypt is that the entirety of the compound is located on the western bank of the Nile River.
Egyptologists believe that the reason for this placement is because the west bank of the Nile River and beyond was considered to be the “Realm of the Dead,” as that is where the sun sets. It would only make sense to put these massive tombs in an area associated with the afterlife.
