A lot of people think that pyramid building was only a phenomenon seen in Ancient Egypt. But in fact, the country with the largest number of pyramids is not Egypt, but present-day Sudan, whose pyramids were built by the rulers of the Nubian Kushite kingdoms.
The rulers of these kingdoms, which spanned from 2600 BCE to 300 CE, were also all buried in pyramids, taking after their Egyptian cousins. The Kushite pyramids, however, were tiny in comparison.
