One of the most important features that can be found on ship is the radiotelegraph communication equipment room. It was used for sending passenger telegrams, navigating messages and receiving weather reports and warnings, around the clock.
The room itself was located on the deck. When the ship struck the iceberg on April 14, the radio message that was transmitted read: ‘We are sinking fast, passengers being put into boats.’
