This picture was taken back in 1910, two years before the RMS Titanic was due to set sail. However, it shows one of the most critical pieces of the ship – the anchor.

The ship’s center anchor was the largest ever forged by hand at the time, at an impressive 18 feet and 6 inches. It also weighed over 15 tons. Noah Hingley & Sons Ltd was a company based near Dudley in the UK, and they were given the momentous task of building the huge anchor.
