This photo was taken back on May 31, 1911, just under a year before it would set sail on its fateful voyage. Situated in Belfast, where it was being built, you can see the giant ship before the work had been completed.
It looks very strange without its telltale four smokestacks on the top. Did you know, however, that only three of those smokestacks were useful? The fourth was an empty funnel that only served for ventilation.
