Cindy Williams played Shirley Feeney, the perky schoolgirl type who loved Laverne almost as much as her Boo Boo Kitty. Shirley lived with Laverne until the 8th season of the show, when she met her Army Medic husband and moved overseas to be with him and start a family. In real life, Cindy Williams had become pregnant and Paramount refused to accommodate her through her pregnancy. She left the show and embarked on a new phase in her life.
