Before he joined the cast of Laverne & Shirley, Ed Marinaro was an American football player who scored 3 touchdowns over the length of his athletic career and played in 2 Superbowl Games. He played for the New York Jets, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Seattle Seahawks. After his acting career took off, he starred on Hill Street Blues for 5 years as Officer Joe Coffey and then transitioned to film in the 2000’s. Today, Marinaro has a son with fitness guru Tracy York.
