Marisa had a very small role in the film The Flamingo Kid in 1984. She landed the role of a waitress named Mandy. She had one line of text in the entire film. Once she was in that film, she continued to act from then on. Her roles thereafter were in The Toxic Avenger, and Playing for Keeps. She had a short break from 1986 to 1991 but came back with a vengeance in films like Oscar, Zandalee, and My Cousin Vinny.
