During the time that Marissa played the role of Maggie Lauten on A Different World back in 1987, she co-starred alongside Lisa Bonet. On the show she played her roommate and in real life the two were actually roommates, making the art imitating life bit very real. Perhaps they drew inscription from their time together as roommates off screen. Both went on to have major careers so all’s well that ends well.
