Marisa Tomei being rumored to not really deserving to win an Oscar at the 1993 Awards was probably the most controversial story during the film celebration. Tomei was relatively new in the industry and she was up against veteran and respected actresses like Vanessa Redgrave and Joan Plowright. After the actress won the Oscar, people started saying that the real winner should have been Redgrave. However, despite all the harsh rumors, there was no way there could have been a mistake as multiple officials are placed behind the scenes to make sure that these kind of mistakes won’t happen.
