One of the most uncomfortable award ceremony moments came back in 2002 when the MTV VMAs celebrated Michael Jackson’s birthday. Britney Spears presented a special award to the singer, announcing him as her artist of the millennium.
Unfortunately, it seems he misunderstood what was going on and believed that he’d just won the artist of the millennium award. It was awkward watching the singer celebrate this non-existent achievement, but no-one attempted to correct him. We suppose they thought it would be too embarrassing to do it while on camera.
