Armed with a small bag, and no money besides the $100 his dad had given him, Cesar headed to Tijuana bus station looking for a way across the border.
He began observing coyotajes – a group who smuggle Mexican migrants into the United States, illegally, of course. While he watched from afar, he saw several fatalities of people trying to cross canals and such. His hope to follow the coyotajes soon diminished and he was back to square one, not wanting to risk his life in the process.
