Despite many points in Cesar’s career where he seemed to be getting bigger and better by the day, there have also been a lot of bad moments.
Two lawsuits against Cesar and the National Geographic Channel ensued in 2006. Makeda Smith, Cesar’s former publicist, and her partner, Foster Corder, were the first to try and sue Cesar, and they were doing so for $5 million. Makeda claimed that they created the name “Dog Whisperer” and then Cesar deserted them, giving them no credit for the title.
