Cesar Millan grew up on a small Mexican farm. The farm was owned by his grandfather and was located in Sinaloa, in northwestern Mexico.
Despite working with many of the family’s farm animals, his passion always lay with dogs. From a young age, people noticed his natural ability to understand dogs, including people he would have rathered not notice. Other children began calling him “El Perrero,” which translated roughly to “Dirty Dog Boy.” He often found himself surrounded by stray dogs, and this prompted further bullying.
