The Amish are a religious sect but the book they follow is not the Bible. It is called The Good Book, or Ordnung. Basically, it is a guide to living like a true Amish community member. Those who break the rules within the Ordnung expect serious consequences.
The basic teachings are familiar with the lines of the Bible, but much more simple, as is their lives. They follow then ten commandments and adhere to a biblical way of life, literally.
