King played one of the most popular characters on the show, Kim Tate. She has been part of the show for ten years and many of the storylines that were related to her were around her marriage to Frank Tate that was played by Norman Bowler.
Her character was also involved in different love affairs and a very big family feud with her stepson, Chris Tate. The most controversial one of them all was probably faking her own death just to get back at her husband.

After King left the show in 1999, she joined the cast of Bad Girls where she played Karen Betts for four years.
She also later was part of Strictly Come Dancing’s fourth season where she competed and in the Celebrity Big Brother back in 2014.
