Perhaps the best thing to come out of Karen Carpenter’s death was the fact that people finally began to speak about Anorexia Nervosa and its impact on girls all over the United States.
People began to learn to identify the symptoms of the horrible disease and more research was getting done in order to learn how to fight it. Anorexia and Bulimia were coming out of the shadows and people began to learn how to help those suffering from the affliction.
