By the time the mid 1970s rolled around, The Carpenters had built up a huge fan base of people from all over the United States and from all different walks of life. However, it was not only the average citizen of the United States who was enthralled with the young duo.
It turns out that then United States President was also a big fan of the rock duo, and even invited them to come and perform at a ceremony honoring German Chancellor Willy Brandt.
