Their new chance at fame had left the band feeling over the moon and ready to tackle the charts once more. Their second album ‘You’re Gonna Get It!’ was released in 1978 and saw the boys climb up to an incredible number 23! The joy wouldn’t last long though as the record company was bought out by MCA. This change in ownership meant that getting a contract renewal was nearly impossible and left Petty completely bankrupt trying to cover the legal costs.
