On his album ‘Hypnotic Eye’, Petty released a bonus track for the vinyl release in 2014. We don’t think he managed to make any fans in the Catholic religion though after ‘Playing Dumb’ was released to the world! The song featured lyrics that addressed the victims of the Catholic Church’s scandals spanning over several decades. Petty went on to comment how it wasn’t a personal attack on any religion, but instead a call to release the truth they have been trying to cover up for years.
