Petty has had some incredible hits over the years, but he hasn’t stayed away from rumors that he may have indeed been getting some strong musical influence from other bands. One of his earliest hits ‘Breakdown’ has been compared to a song that was released ten years prior named ‘Cheating’. While the name of the song could be a clue, the similarities could have just been a coincidence for Petty. Or at least, that would be understandable if it was the only one…
