Petty quickly set about the task of forming his own. In high school, he found his love of music began to take over his life. The ‘Epics’ were born, and at 17-years old Petty decided he would drop out of school to pursue his career as a rockstar! The Epics became ‘Mudcrutch’, so named because of the farm that two members lived on. Quickly taking the role of frontman and songwriter, Petty gained a local fan base!
