Montel Williams was in the United States military for over 15 years. The talk show host started his military career right out of high school in 1974 when he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He spent three years working on submarines before moving on to supervising cryptologic officer with the Naval Security Fleet Support Division.
It was there that he discovered his love and talent for public speaking that ended up pulling him towards his future career. Montel worked with parents, businesses, and educators to assist the problem with youth today once he was out of the military. It was his work with them that lead him to the Montel William Show.
