For a show set in rural North Carolina, it was always interesting to note that Andy and his posse always had a brand new, shiny police cars. The reason the cars always looked so nice was because the show’s studio would go out and buy a new car every time a new model came out. This led to there being several police cars in the show, many of which have been auctioned off to private collectors.
