[post_page_title]The rock throw was staged[/post_page_title]
During the title sequence when Andy Griffith and his son Opie (played by a very young Ron Howard) are walking with their fishing poles, we see little Opie throwing rocks. At one point, he picks up a rock and throws it into a pond. The camera then zooms in on a splash, followed by an advertisement. It turns out that splash was not from Opie’s rock, but from a producer throwing a bigger rock which Opie was too little to throw.
