The woman who played Aunt Bee from The Andy Griffith Show, Frances Bavier, had quite the illustrious career even before she got famous on television. She was actually a very famous broadway actress, and even played a few movie roles, including in the hit film The Day the Earth Stood Still. She ended up winning an Emmy for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role.
