Every dog owner knows this. Your friends come over, ring the doorbell, and your dog can’t seem to stop barking and scratching at the door. This has two reasons. Dogs are usually very friendly creatures, and they’re excited to have company – so they try to see who’s at the door.
The second reason is, dogs are also incredibly protective of their owners and their home, so they’re also looking out for potential threats in order to keep their owners safe.
