Although we only saw Maggie Moldovan’s face in the second My Girl movie, she had already proved to be a huge character in the first movie. That’s because Maggie was Vada’s mom, who sadly passed away just a few days after she was born.
We learn in My Girl 2 that Maggie was an actress who loved her career, her husband, and her daughter dearly. Providing one of the most amazing and emotional performances in the movie, Maggie serenaded her daughter through old footage, and her rendition of “Smile” made Vada happier than she had ever been.
