Everyone knows who Gillian Anderson is, right? Known for her role in The X-Files, Gillian is a huge name in the world of iconic television. Because of this, we’re not surprised to know that she has wowed in some of the biggest auditions of her life.
This was certainly the case when she was offered the chance to take on the role of Lady Cora in Downton Abbey. The British period drama is a hugely popular show, but Gillian just didn’t have the time. So, the role was given to Elizabeth McGovern instead.
