When you think of Grey’s Anatomy, you probably think of the man they call “McDreamy.” Played by Patrick Dempsey, the role of Derek Shepherd went down a storm with fans at home, and many suggest that he is the reason the show is so popular.
However, we can’t help but wonder if the show would have been so popular with the producers’ first choice in the hot seat. Rob Lowe was originally offered the role of McDreamy, but he decided to turn it down because he had another TV offer on the table.
